The Helimer helicopter located a boat in Canary waters this morning
Maritime Rescue rescued in recent hours a total of 159 migrants to the Canary Islands, who were traveling on boats yesterday Monday afternoon in the waters near El Hierro.
Concretely, the rescue was carried out by Adhara maritime rescue after locating the canoe by radar echo while it was sailing approximately 18.5 kilometers (10 nautical miles) south of La Restinga, in El Pinar. In this boat he traveled 84 peopleincluding four minors.
Around 9:30 p.m., another group of people were rescued by the Salvamar Acrux. 75 migrantsincluding five minors, who were transferred to La Restinga (El Hierro) and assisted by the area’s health system made up of personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), Primary Care and the Red Cross.

Currently the rescue protocol is active again in El Hierro due to a cayuco detected by the Helimer 201 helicopter.
