The National Police once again takes over Three thousand houses. Concretely, around 70 agents surround the area looking for drugs. This is a new phase of Operation Vulcano which intensified following the shootings with weapons of war that occurred at the beginning of October in this neighborhood, the one with the lowest average annual income in all of Spain .

The troops involved in the said operation belong to the citizen security units of the provincial police station. They do seven home searches in different places.

In the days following the shootings with weapons of war in the South Polygonup to three macro-raids were carried out. In the first of these, 300 agents were mobilized.

The total outcome of these operations was the dismantling of 21 marijuana plantations. In the neighborhood, there are buildings where almost no neighbors live and which are occupied by drug clans.

He also stopped 11 peopleof whom only five remained in prison. A large quantity of unauthorized material related to drug trafficking was seized. The national police have now returned to the site to carry out seven searches.

“Fight against delinquency”

As indicated by the government subdelegate in Seville, Francisco Toscanothis type of operations “will be maintained both in this neighborhood and in other areas of Seville and the province” to continue to fight “against delinquency and above all” against drug trafficking.

In addition to Polígono Sur, similar operations were carried out in other conflict areas of the city, such as Polígono Norte, Los Pajaritos and La Bachillerawhere up to 16 arrests were made and drugs seized.

All are part of the new strategy of National Police in Seville. In total, seven macro-raids took place in just over a month, aimed at surrounding medium-sized drug traffickers.

By operating in these neighborhoods, they generate numerous sources of conflict for neighbors. Without going any further, last Saturday, there was another shooting leaving two people injured. Additionally, they often experience power outages due to the high electrical power that marijuana farms require.
