Our national judo team will attend the European Championship with 16 athletes

Azerbaijani judokas have been announced for the European Junior Championships in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

Oku.Az The press service of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation has published information on this matter.

Our country will be represented in the tournament by 9 male and 7 female athletes in 11 weight categories.

The judokas will compete in individual competitions from 5 to 7 September and in team competitions on 8 September. Mammadrza Hajizadeh will compete only in the team competition.

They will be led by youth team coach Elkhan Mammadov, head coach Elkhan Rajabli, women’s team coaches Elnur Ismayilov and Imamverdi Mammadov.

Of the girls, Konul Aliyeva, Farida Mirzayeva (both 48 kg), Khadija Gadashova (52 kg), Fidan Alizade, Fidan Gasimova (both 57 kg), Parvana Abdullayeva (70 kg), Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg), of the children Nizami Imranov (60 kg), Vusal Qalandarzade, Aydin Rzayev (both 73 kg), Suleyman Shukurov (81 kg), Aslan Kotsoyev, Shamil Tuncay (both 90 kg), Ajdar Bagirov (100 kg), Ramazan Ahmadov and Kanan Nasibov (each two +100 kg) will come out on the tatami.

It is worth noting that Olympic medallist Rustam Orukhov will act as the European Union Sports Commissioner for Judo at the competition, and Ali Davrishov, an honoured coach, figure of physical education and sport, will act as a member of the Organising Committee for Information Technologies.
