The People’s School Desk ended, social minister Gus Ipul appreciated the cooperation between the regional government

Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus iPul) immediately saw the implementation of the People’s School Desk in the Congress Building of the most important Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery, Jakarta, Wednesday (23/4). He appreciated the determination and efforts of the local government to realize human schools for children from the poor and extreme poor.

“Alhamdulillah, I see that there is a spirit from the region to follow the information and at the same time follow all the necessary conditions,” said Gus iPul in his statement, Thursday (4/24/2025).

The People’s School Desk was held five days from Wednesday to Wednesday (April 16-17 April 2025) and took place on Monday-Wednesday (21-23 April 2025) in the Kalibata Main National Heroes Cemetery Convention Building (TMPNU), South Jakarta. During this time, no fewer than 282 district/city governments, provincial governments and 3 universities, namely the Islamic University of the State of Noord -Sumatra, the Surabaya State University and Brawijaya University, conducted consultations with regard to the organization of human schools.

Via the People’s School Desk, various information with regard to the preparation of human schools ranging from land supply, licenses, recruitment of teachers and students and the support of infrastructure can be obtained. The results of the consultation in the office can later determine that the addition of the school points of people who can be opened immediately.

“Of course it will be followed later at the meeting and then determine which areas can be included in the first phase and also which points can be opened later the learning process,” Gus iPul continued.

Moreover, he also appreciated the willingness of the local government for adjusting the requirements of the human schools. For example, the addition of the land surface that was 5 hectares to 7 hectares. The addition of land surface is needed to support supporting facilities for human schools such as teachers’ homes, dorms, learning places of students, sports facilities and infrastructure, as well as other extracurricular activities.

“So these are indeed developments that must be adjusted by the regions. But again, I appreciate it, I give respect, the area tries to fulfill everything,” he said.

Moreover, Gus iPul hopes that the target of 200 human schools can be realized via the People’s School Desk. He also opened the possibility of a people’s school that could be opened this year, in addition to 53 Forest of the People’s School, which is currently aged by the Ministry of Social Affairs and other K/L that are involved, including the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Agricultural and Spatial Planning/BPN, the Ministry of Beknip and the Ministry of Religion.
