The house of a resident of the UPD settlement in the Khatai region was in an emergency situation due to the explosion of a drinking water pipe.
The complainant claims that this situation continued for almost two months and caused other houses in the area to fill with water:
“Our houses are under water. We go to the water department, we call, but nobody listens to us. They say it was built illegally.”
Another complainant, whose house was filled with water, said water from the broken pipe poured into the sewer.
Ceyhun Musaoglu, a representative of the United Water Supply Service for Large Cities, said that for many years now, the regulations have been violated in this area and houses have been built on the water line. The house where the accident occurred is one of the illegally built apartments. In order to eliminate the problem in the area, the citizen’s house needs to be demolished. However, the citizen objected to this. According to the official of the institution, this is why the relevant institutions have been approached and certain documents will be submitted to the court once they are ready.
