The ex-convict who committed robbery against four students was brought before the judge

The next session of the trial of Süleyman Bayram oglu Askerov, charged under Article 181.2.1 (robbery of a group of persons) of the Criminal Code, was held at the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Telman Huseynov.

According to information from “Unikal”, Suleyman Asgarov, who previously lived in prison, committed a robbery against 4 students of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ADMIU). First of all, Muhammedali Namazov testified in court as a witness and noted that last year, when he was studying in the second year of ADMIU, Suleyman Bayram oglu Asgarov called him to the park:

“He held out his hand and greeted me, asked my name and age. Then he moved on to the question of money. He said that a girl who is my relative was beaten here and 175 manats were taken. I am looking for that person. If I find him, it will be bad for him. I myself have been in prison for 10 years. If I check your bag, if that money is bad for you if he gets out of there, I said no problem. He shook my hand and said, “You are a man.”

Punhan Guliyev, another witness, also testified and said that he is studying in the third year of ADMIU:

“On September 27, 2023, when I left school and wanted to go home, I saw my former bandmate Ali Nuruzade, he said that yesterday they pulled a knife on me in the park and took my 20 manats, be careful. When I left him and went to the subway, I saw Suleyman near the stone stairs, he told me that they beat my relative. Then he said to me: “What do you need? After seeing them, I remembered that he was the one who committed the crime against Ali. We were told not to go there and that they would send the guards there. I saw Suleyman again when I passed by the hallway, and he even greeted me. When I told this to the university guards, they told me that he did not belong to the university. They forced us to go with Ali to the police department number 27 of the Yasamal district, a man threatens students and takes money.”

The trial was adjourned until September 20.

It should be noted that Suleyman Askerov, who was detained by Yasamal RPI employees in July last year, had already been convicted of theft.

At any time of the day, Suleiman threatened students, teenagers and taxi drivers with a knife and took their money. Suleyman Asgarov, who uses drugs, used the money he obtained to buy drugs.
