The withdrawal of “manat taxis” from the “20 Janvar” station of the Baku metro has caused discontent among passengers using this service.
Although the appropriate route lines are in operation for the addresses to which the complainants travel by taxi, passengers remain stuck on the roads for hours. This is due to the length of the interval between buses, as well as unfavourable conditions in these vehicles.
“If the ‘Manatlig taxis’ stop running, how soon will people return home? These are old buses, we cook in the heat and are forced to use taxis,” the resident expressed his displeasure.
As for the reason for the removal of “manat taxis” from the area, the head of the state traffic police said that a special lane has been reserved for the comfortable and safe movement of general-purpose vehicles in the mentioned area. In accordance with the requirements of the current legislation, the movement of other vehicles, as well as stopping and stopping, is prohibited in these lanes.
According to transport experts, since the “manat taxis” have been eliminated, alternative ways should be considered to ensure the comfort of citizens.
“It is necessary to increase the number of buses on the route, for example on the exit lane. If the number of buses is increased, the intervals will also be reduced,” said transport expert Eldeniz Jafarov.
