Ceasefire negotiations: Lebanese media reported new details

Lebanese media have revealed new details of the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas. According to the Al-Akhbar newspaper, long meetings were held in Cairo yesterday, during which possible concessions on the part of Israel were discussed.

Channel 12 writes that the mediators believed that these concessions could lead the Hamas terrorists to reach an agreement, but the negotiations ended without reaching an agreement.

The Israeli delegation reportedly rejected the mediators’ proposals, saying it did not have enough decision-making power and that final steps should be agreed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Current efforts are focused on returning to the previous agreement, which Hamas had already accepted with minor modifications, the sources said. In particular, a gradual, rather than complete, withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip is being discussed.

Among the proposed concessions were a gradual withdrawal of Israeli Axis forces from Philadelphia and a promise not to build along the corridor. Also being considered is the creation of a “land corridor” that would allow the IDF to move and reach the area quickly.

Earlier, Kursor reported on a preemptive strike against Hezbollah.

According to IDF estimates, Hezbollah intended to launch between 500 and 600 rockets toward northern Israel.
