A man was arrested in Sherry from the Frontera After attack the doctor who treated him in the emergency department of the hospital in this city of Cadiz. The National Police arrested him and the Health Management Area of Jerez, Northwest Coast and Sierra activated its Plan for Prevention and Attention to Aggressions. The doctor has already filed the corresponding complaint.
As the Commission explains in a note, the attack occurred on Sunday morning when a patient who was in the treatment room of the EMERGENCIES from the Jerez hospital insulted and physically attacked the professional, a surgeon who had already explored it and requested a test.
The doctor was saved by the guards security and the companion of another patient who was in the room, while the attacker was arrested by the National Police.
The Commission indicated that the region had made all the necessary means available to this professional (including legal advice and psychological support), while publicly condemning these events. In this sense, he called for this Tuesday a repulsion concentration in response to this attack at 12:00 at the gate of the General Hospital.
The Territorial Delegation of Health and Consumption, through its head, Eva Pajares, also joined in the regrets for what happened and expressed its support for this professional, as well as for the rest of the health personnel “who are seen affected by this scourge, who has already been warned of its consequences, which could result in prison sentences of up to three years.”
