Artificial inflation stops: punitive measures have begun

Following the establishment of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, there are expectations of price regulation in the markets. In this regard, the institution that should deal with the regulation of the situation in the consumer market with an antimonopoly policy should naturally take appropriate measures depending on price stabilization and, in the event of a possible price reduction.

This was explained to Telegraf.com by expert economist Elshad Mammadov.

He said the newly created institution should have broad powers to influence those who artificially raise prices:

“If an effective form of activity is established, positive changes can be expected in these areas, because today there are marked differences between the production price and the prices on the sales markets.”

The expert considers it unacceptable to artificially increase prices:

“The fact that the price of a product in retail markets is many times higher than that received from the manufacturer is due to shortcomings in the activities of the institution responsible for the relevant direction. If the antimonopoly policy is carried out effectively, if the situation in the consumer market is regulated, such cases will not occur.”

According to Elshad Mammadov, it is necessary to achieve maximum proportionality between production prices and prices in final sales markets:

“To this end, anti-monopoly measures should be even stricter. On the other hand, appropriate decisions should be taken in the field of anti-monopoly policy. At the same time, the activity of the institution responsible for this area (State Antimonopoly Agency) monopoly and control of the consumer market) must be guaranteed.”
