The Palestinian Red Crescent reported five deaths in Israeli attacks in Tubas, in the West Bank, on Wednesday, September 11, its spokesman Ahmed Jibril told Agence France-Presse (AFP). These deaths are “the result of Israeli bombings against a group of citizens in Tubas”this spokesman said.
AFP could not independently confirm this information. The Red Crescent said the attacks took place near the Al-Tawhid mosque in Tubas.
The Israeli army, for its part, stated “currently carrying out anti-terrorist activities in the regions of Tubas and Tamoun” and that one of their planes had “strike an armed terrorist cell” in the Tubas area in the northern West Bank.
In late August, Israel launched a vast military operation against Tubas, as well as the neighbouring towns of Jenin and Tulkarem and their refugee camps, where armed groups fighting the Israeli occupation are particularly active.
