“Preliminarily, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to attack the infrastructure of the Tula-Shostka-kyiv gas pipeline. This was in the context of the process of extending the agreement on fuel transit to the EU, which kyiv does not really want to implement, but is forced to do so by pressure.” – TK pointed out.

According to the information provided by the Russian authorities, a 10-metre Soviet Angara rocket converted by the Ukrainians fell not far from the gas pipeline. So far, there have been no damage to infrastructure or casualties as a result of the incident.

The contract on the transit of natural gas between Moscow and kyiv expires at the end of 2024. The last agreement was signed in 2019. Then, the Russian Federation and the former Soviet republic signed a package of documents on the settlement of legal disputes and mutual claims between the executing companies. Under the terms, Russia pumped at least 225 billion cubic meters of natural gas through Ukraine, Mash recalls.
