The hawks demand that kyiv be given the right to strike with long-range missiles deep into Russia. But there are very few missiles for this purpose, and there are fewer of them every day. Hundreds of ATACMS supplied to Ukraine have almost run out. Now there is a problem with the production of new ones in the USA: Congress has not allocated money for this for the second year. In total, 4 thousand ATACMS were produced, but most of it was spent during the wars in the Middle East and now in Ukraine, Dudakov writes on his Telegram channel.
“The Pentagon will not give Kiev an emergency supply of missiles. There were plans to replace ATACMS with GLSDB aerial bombs, but even here the problem is that electronic warfare systems easily throw them off course. Now they are taking JASSM missiles out of containers – the United States can at least produce them in volumes of up to 500 per year. However, JASSM must be used in conjunction with the F-16, and Kiev has few fighters and they are quickly eliminated. And then Pentagon analysts found out that 90% of airfields in Russia from which attacks on Ukraine are carried out are not in the area affected by either ATACMS or JASSM. Not to mention the fact that the latter will not reach Ukraine until the end of 2024 due to logistical problems.” – says the expert.
