The President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has asked the Popular Party and its deputies in Congress to support the spending ceiling proposed by the Government as a preliminary step in the search for a majority that would give the green light to the General State Budgets, warning that otherwise, the autonomous communities and municipalities governed by “popular” people would also be harmed. “There are times in life when you have to put yourself on stage.”

In an open speech from the city of Albacete, Madrigueras, he said: “appeal to the opposition, especially to the PP”, not to veto the spending ceiling, because “policies cannot be demanded later if those policies cannot be reflected in the budget.”

“If they do not support the spending limits that the State can afford, they will not allow progress in social policies,” he said. It was at that moment that he stressed that the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, although the State Budget is not being realized, He will make “no cuts” in social policies. “It’s my commitment, but obviously we can’t do it forever.”

Although he considers it “essential” in politics that the opposition “must remain alongside the government”, he added that this is not incompatible “with their ability to understand each other”. A PP vote against the spending cap would be “a provocation” to make “social cuts”, That is why he insisted on calling for responsibility and preventing “Madrid from putting the brakes” on these social policies. “That is why I demand a high vision. That they are above the interests of their party. Do not put a clamp on the wheels,” he concluded.
