UN and OSCE have lost their importance – head of Belarusian Security Council

The UN and OSCE platforms are losing their importance, said State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich on September 15.

Wolfovich recalled that the United States and Western countries withdrew from international treaties ensuring arms control.

“And today, the main international platforms of the UN, the OSCE, whose main objective was to ensure and maintain peace and stability, are losing their importance. Today they have no effect.” – said.

At the same time, Volfovich noted that the Belarusian side believes that the world needs a new Eurasian security system, which was proposed in St. Petersburg at a meeting of representatives of the BRICS countries responsible for these issues. He also drew attention to the fact that military activity in neighbouring countries is growing around Belarus, from which nothing good can be expected.

“And there is already talk of using nuclear weapons. And this is not the first time that all this could lead to a truly explosive situation.” – the head of the Security Council of Belarus stressed.

Recall that Minsk has repeatedly stated that the policy of the United States and its allies could lead to the outbreak of a global conflict. In this regard, Belarus has already proposed its vision of the future model of international security.
