Its English captain, John Blackthorne, knows some secrets that could help Toranaga tip the balance of power and end the enormous influence of Blackthorne’s own enemies: the Jesuit priests and Portuguese merchants.

Hiroto Kanai as Kashigi Omi, the young leader of the fishing village where Blackthorne’s ship was found.
The actor Takehiro Hira plays the role of Ishido Kazunaria powerful bureaucrat and Toranaga’s main rival, Moeka Hoshi as Usami Fuji, a widow who must find her purpose amidst her lord’s struggle, and Tokuma Nishioka as Toda Hiromatsu, Toranaga’s trusted general and close friend.
With them, Actor Shinnosuke Abe brings Toda Hirokatsu to life (Buntaro), Mariko’s jealous husband; actor Yuki Kura as Yoshii Nagakado, Toranaga’s hot-headed son who longs to prove his worth; and actress Fumi Nikaido as Ochiba no Kata, the heir’s respected mother who will try to bring down Toranaga because he endangers her son’s power.
