A new variant of the coronavirus, the XEC, has spread in European countries and the United States. Experts are concerned that this could trigger a new wave of the pandemic.
Oku.Az reports that “Independiente” published information on this matter.
XEC is reportedly a strain from the “Omicron” family that causes symptoms similar to other COVID variants.
These symptoms include fatigue, headache, sore throat and fever. Researchers are continuing to study the strain.
XEC is currently found in hundreds of patients in most countries in Europe, North America and Asia. A particularly pronounced growth of the strain was first observed in Germany in June this year. Countries that have confirmed the presence of the disease include Slovenia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Taiwan, France, Israel, Italy, Sweden, Ireland, Great Britain, Canada, Spain and Denmark.
