Judge Peinado asks how much Begoña Gómez earned as co-director of the Complutense chair

The judge Juan Carlos Peinado asked the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) to inform him of the “list of amounts paid” to Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, as co-director of a chair of the center, as well as to all the professors who gave courses.

The president of the Court of Instruction number 41 of Madrid has issued a series of decisions, to which LaSexta has had access, in which requires information from different entities regarding Begoña Gómez, who is being investigated for influence peddling and corruption in the business world, along with the rector of the UCM, Joaquín Goyache, and the businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés.

He enters one of them at the university center to inform her of the number of students enrolled in each of the editions of the course “Competitive Social Transformation”, which Gómez co-directed, and wants to know how much money was paid to her and the deputy director, Professor José Manuel Ruano and all the professors.

The magistrate also wishes to have the “files for granting the subsidy for sponsoring the creation” of the said chair and for this reason he is also addressing La Caixa Foundation and the insurance company Real.

And he also wants to know what “evolution” of the report commissioned by the Civil Guard to carry out with the documentation provided by the Société Nationale de Participations Industrielles (SEPI), attached to the Ministry of Finance, concerning the aid granted to the rescue of the Air Europa company by the Government in 2020.

The defense of Gomez appealed the judge’s decision to request this information, since the said rescue does not constitute “the object of this procedure” and there is no resolution establishing it either.

In addition to these allegations, Judge Juan Carlos Peinado also agreed to call declare on October 16th as testimony of the director of human resources of the Instituto de Empresa, where Begoña Gómez directed the Africa Center.

Before this date, next September 30thThe Provincial Court of Madrid is considering resolving the appeals presented by both Begoña Gómez’s defense and the prosecution, in which they requested to archive or limit the investigation of Judge Peinado.

And in parallel, the High Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) has not yet decided whether or not to admit the processing of the complaints for prevarication filed Gómez’s lawyer and the prosecutionrepresenting the President of the Government, against Judge Peinado.
