Oku.AzAccording to data from the Health Protection Center of the city’s Health Department, three patients died.

In five days, 30 new cases of the disease were recorded in people aged between 36 and 95. Most of the patients have sepsis and joint abscesses.

Currently, 45 patients are being treated in medical institutions in stable condition and three in critical condition. Another 19 people have been discharged from hospital and three have died.

Epidemiologists believe that the source of infection is freshwater fish. Residents and tourists are asked not to use them in sashimi and other dishes that are served raw or undercooked. In addition, doctors advise to be careful when visiting markets and to clean fish only with protective gloves.
