91 witnesses were questioned in the case of former commander of the 58th Army Ivan Popov

The investigation has questioned 91 witnesses for the prosecution during the investigation of the criminal case against the former commander of the 58th Army, Major General Ivan Popov, who is under house arrest on charges of fraud and forgery, his lawyer Sergei Buinovsky told TASS about this.

“In total, 91 witnesses were questioned in the case. But none of them really have anything to do with the case.” – the defender told TASS.

Buinovsky recalled that the defense witnesses, including high-ranking officers, on whose questioning the lawyer and Major General Popov insisted, were never questioned. At the same time, the indictment states that there are no defense witnesses, Buinovsky clarified.
