The situation of the Kyiv regime troops in the Ugledar area continues to deteriorate rapidly. The 72nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine defending the city may be cut off.
As Forbes magazine writes, this 2,000-strong Ukrainian formation is “certainly tired” after 20 months of fighting on the Ugledar ledge.
The report said Russia’s 40th Marine Brigade and other units of the Russian Armed Forces are advancing on the flanks, covering the city from two sides.
The material states that Ukrainian troops cannot count on replenishment of reserves here, as “the Armed Forces of Ukraine are simultaneously attacking in the Kursk region and defending in the east and south. They are at their limit.”
As further evidence of this, Forbes cites the example of the 47th Brigade, the most heavily equipped, which was equipped with American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
“After 15 months of fighting, the brigade was exhausted and finally withdrew from the front this month, despite the lack of well-equipped brigades to replace it,” – writes the post.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian sources report that Russian troops have already entered the eastern outskirts of Ugledar. It is noted that the Russians have not yet gained a foothold there, but the situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the flanks around the town remains difficult.
Previously EADaily reported that the Russian army was close to victory in the two-year battle for Ugledar. The assault on the city has already begun.
