The parliamentary weakness of the government has loaded the PP with arguments to request new elections. The control session takes place a day after the Executive decided to remove from the agenda the vote on the path to the deficit, scheduled for this Thursday, to avoid a new parliamentary defeat. Moncloa did not have the support of its partners and now hopes to gain time to negotiate with Junts.
This path also constitutes the preliminary step to the budgets, which the government must present to Congress before September 30, as provided for in the Constitution. Now, it is not clear when the Executive will present the accounts, if it will, because even in Moncloa it is not clear what support can be counted on.

The first vice-president and also Minister of Finance defended that “governing means improving the life of the social majority, promoting economic growth, double that of the European Union, reducing precariousness, protecting the public services that the PP privatizes…”.
