The businessman Victor de Aldama gave more details on his version of the Koldo affair and his accusations against several members of the PSOE and the government. Specifically, he once again pointed the finger at the secretary of the socialist organization, Santos Cerdán, and Carlos Moreno Medina, chief of staff of the first vice president and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero.
“The other day, when Cerdán was asked in Congress if he had received any money, he started giving strange explanations. If it’s a lie, you directly say no. And they told him asked again and he replied ‘obviously he didn’t give me anything'”, said Aldama, who declared before the National Court that he had handed over to the organizing secretary of the PSOE 15,000 euros in cash.
“It is obvious that they are the ones who are lying,” he stressed.
Cerdán’s “strange explanations” to which Aldama refers are statements made to Congress last week by number three of the PSOE. The socialist leader denied any relationship with the businessman and called the accusations “false”. “There is no no credibility this gentleman. He told a series of lies. Everything is false. We have not received any money,” he reiterated.
Regarding Montero’s chief of staff, Carlos Moreno, Aldama insisted that he had received “an amount of 25,000 euros”. The businessman explained that Moreno “does not ask directly” for the money but that he is “almost sure” that it is Koldo García who, “to look good or so that this man continues to do him a favor “, asked him to give him the 25,000 euros. And he emphasizes: “Carlos Moreno does not reject it at all”.
Aldama also insisted on the payments he made to Ábalos: “For my part, he received 250,000 euros. And for other matters that I will not talk about because they are still at the Prosecutor’s Office, almost 400,000. ”
Delcy’s journey
Aldama also once again held the government responsible for the January 2020 trip to Madrid by Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez. He explained that the Chavista leader had been invited “a month before her arrival in Spain” and that she “had warned her of her sanctions” from the European Union, but “the government assured her that nothing wasn’t happening.”
The trip was organized “from the start” by the Minister of Transport at the time and number two of the PSOE, Jose Luis Abalos. The visit had the approval not only of Ábalos, but also of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaskaand then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha Gonzalez Laya“with the knowledge of the president”, again according to Aldama’s version.
Delcy Rodríguez could not set foot on European soil, so Ábalos went to the airport and boarded the Venezuelan vice president’s plane with Aldama. “Inside the plane there were a series of conversations and Delcy told Ábalos that she was not going to be arrested, that she had to call anyone or the president to resolve the situation “Sánchez spoke with Ábalos, not with Delcy, and they guaranteed that they would not arrest him,” the businessman said.
Eventually, instructions were given to the airport commissioner to create a security zone, they went to a VIP lounge and he left on “a plane from Qatar,” according to Aldama.
“Defenseless”
The businessman investigated by Koldo affair and the fuel plot He was released from provisional prison last Thursday after voluntarily testifying before the National Court and ensuring “absolute collaboration” with the prosecution. Today, Aldama assured that he felt “defenseless” and even suggested that the government could order an attack against him.
“I want to understand that at this moment Anything that happens to me will be reported to the government or the president, then I don’t think anything will happen to me. But knowing the characters, I will have to take good care of myself,” he said.
“I haven’t set foot in Moncloa”
“I have not been with Sánchez to Moncloa. I have not set foot in Moncloa,” concluded Aldama. The businessman specified that he had met the president of the government twice. The first time was at a PSOE event he was asked to attend, where he eventually took a photo with Sánchez, and the second time was on Ábalos’ birthday in a restaurant.
Regarding the president’s wife, Begoña Gómez, Aldama said he knew her because he had been with her “several times”, but not at Moncloa.
