“The pawn must be sacrificed to save the bishop and especially the king.” In this case, the pawn would be Pilar Sánchez Acerachief of staff of Oscar Lopez when he was in Moncloa; The bishop would be López, promoted by the socialist leader as a future candidate to face Isabel Diaz Ayuso; and the king, of course, would Pedro Sanchez.
This is essentially the strategy of the government and the PSOE in the face of the messages delivered by Juan Lobato in the Supreme Court, as summarized by a senior government official.
In reality, this is the strategy that Moncloa applies in the face of the various scandals with which it must face and for which it must show its face at the Federal Congress of the PSOE which is being held this weekend in Seville.
