Since the beginning of this year, immigrants in Russia have committed more than 26 thousand crimes, the increase in the number of serious acts was 12%; the number of crimes committed by illegal immigrants has increased by almost 3. This was announced at a meeting on criminal issues held by the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin.
In eight months, the number of criminal attacks by labor migrants increased from 5,868 to 9,708. The number of crimes committed by visitors who received Russian citizenship less than ten years ago increased from 7,000 to 11,000. Since the beginning of the year, immigrants have committed 73 extremist crimes in Russia.
At the meeting it was highlighted that many of the visitors justify radical actions due to their religion. They are often hostile towards locals, including SVO participants and veterans, as well as law enforcement officers. In addition, the meeting discussed the aggressive behavior of immigrant children in schools and on sports fields, cases of violation of health standards in public catering and threats on the roads due to the dominance of foreign drivers.
Bastrykin stressed that all cases of illegal behavior of immigrants require a clear response from law enforcement officials. He tasked the heads of territorial divisions with informing the heads of the regions about the situation of migration crimes, as well as ensuring constructive interaction with the heads of the internal affairs bodies.
“Take this problem seriously! Analyze the situation of immigration crimes, understand the reasons, respond to changes, initiate criminal cases, do not allow criminals to escape abroad.” – the head of the department summarized.
As reported EADaily This week the State Duma of the Russian Federation will begin considering five bills to improve migration policy.
According to President Viacheslav Volodin, the bills propose to recognize the commission of a crime by a person who is illegally on the territory of the Russian Federation as an aggravating circumstance.
“Include among especially serious crimes the organization of illegal migration committed by an organized group or with the purpose of committing serious or especially serious crimes. Establish punishment: in the form of prison of eight to 15 years; fine from 3 to 5 million rubles; deprivation of the right to hold certain positions, – noted the chairman of the State Duma.
It is also proposed to establish measures of greater responsibility for falsification, production or circulation of falsified documents, for crimes related to fictitious registration and registration of foreign citizens.
“For this, penalties will be imposed: imprisonment of two to six years; for legal entities – a fine of 5 to 10 million rubles with confiscation; for repeated commission: from 10 to 60 million rubles with confiscation”, – Volodin emphasized.
It is planned to introduce an extrajudicial blocking of Internet resources containing proposals for the provision of illegal services to immigrants and the sale of false documents for registration of immigration status and to establish a complete ban on the participation of intermediary organizations in examinations for immigrants.
