According to the “Report”, Ali Nagiyev, chairman of the State Commission on Prisoners, Missing Citizens and Hostages, stated this in his speech at the international conference on “The solution to the problem of missing persons: supporting the right of families to know the truth.” .
He said that several power centers in the world are currently interested in increasing tension in the region, including arming Armenia and reigniting revanchism and separatism, and do not hesitate to openly support it:
“It seems that such forces do not think about the bitter fate of hundreds of thousands of people who lost their lives, became refugees, internally displaced people and disappeared as a result of the armed conflicts that took place in this region and that currently continue in the world “.
The chairman of the commission noted that at the same time we are determined to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation with all States in the socio-economic, political, humanitarian and other spheres, in accordance with the norms and principles of international law. Based on the same principles, the State of Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace treaty with Armenia in a short period of time:
“Therefore, official Yerevan should amend its constitution and other national legislative acts, which stipulate territorial claims against Azerbaijan. The peace agreement signed today should completely exclude any possibility of making territorial claims again. The problem of missing persons , which is not only Azerbaijani, but global in nature, must be addressed by relevant international organizations and international political circles must seriously think. In particular, the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other relevant organizations must pay attention. attention to this issue and take urgent measures to prevent violent disappearances.”
