Today, October 2, an emergency alert system for the population was tested in Transnistria. SMS messages with a characteristic beep were sent to all mobile phones at 10:00. The information is also duplicated on radio and television.
The General Directorate of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior reports that the planned launch of a comprehensive emergency notification system for citizens, used in case of emergencies, is underway. Similar tests had already been carried out in the republic after the outbreak of the military conflict in Ukraine.
Recall that a high terrorist threat level, introduced in May 2023, still exists in Transnistria. After a series of terrorist attacks in April 2022, a critical threat level “red” was declared, which was subsequently replaced by a code “ yellow”, which also implies reinforced public order measures.
