Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that frees those accused of military service from criminal liability.
Oku.Azreferring to Gazeta.ru, the document was published on the website where legal acts are officially published.
The law supplements the provisions of the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes of the Russian Federation.
The author of the legislative initiative was the Supreme Court. The law will allow defendants who served in the army during the mobilization period or signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense to be exempt from criminal liability at the stage of the judicial process.
Defendants may also sign a military service contract during mobilization, martial law, and war.
