The Carter Center shows OAS election results that give victory to Edmundo González in Venezuela

The Carter Center, an American organization that served as an election observer during Venezuela’s July 28 presidential election, told the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) on Wednesday that it original voting records this would give victory to the adversary Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia.

“It was mailed to me, I’m going to show it to you after this session so you can see it. These are original court records from Venezuela that have a QR code that is meaningful and allows witnesses from thousands and thousands of tables systematically collect information,” said Carter Center senior adviser for Latin America, Jenny Lincolnduring an OAS session held in Washington.

The minutes reportedly show that the standard bearer of the main platform of the Venezuelan opposition, Edmundo González Urrutia won the elections with 67% of the voteswhile the current president, Nicolás Maduro, would have obtained 31%.

The National Electoral Council (CNE), however, claims that Maduro was re-elected in these elections, even if it has not published the minutes with the disaggregated results.

“The Venezuelan CNE’s lack of transparency and refusal to provide data from its machine tables and minutes to explain the declaration of a winner does not meet international standards,” Lincoln said during his speech.

During the same session, OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro declared that “the the electoral process was from the beginning one of the worst things that could be done”.

“As expected, this was neither free, nor fair, nor transparent. As expected, this was done in violation of signed agreements” and a fraudulent outcome was announced, Almagro said.

Edmundo González recognized Jennie Lincoln’s “commitment to have the courage to show the results of the vote and to explain their value within the framework of recognizing the truth.” “The minutes represent the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people. And that is what the Carter Center is showing the world today!” he expressed in a publication on X.

The leader of the opposition, Maria Corina Machadoalso celebrated the arrival of the minutes at the OAS and declared that “the world knows what happened on July 28.” “Now you have the truth in your hands. We will liberate Venezuela!” he published in X.

The U.S. Carter Center and a small United Nations delegation were the only ones able to provide independent electoral representation to observe the voting process in Venezuela’s July 28 elections.

The electoral body of Venezuela had granted the re-election of Maduro as head of state with 51.95% of the votes, against 43.18% of support obtained by González Urrutia, with 96.87% of the minutes examined.
