Mysterious 5,000-year-old tomb found in Türkiye

Near the city of Burdur, in Türkiye, a tomb dating from the beginning of the third millennium BC was found.

Oku.Az “Haber Global” reported on this.

According to the information, during the excavation work a skeleton was discovered that was determined to be about five thousand years old.

According to Professor Gülsün Umurtak, who directs the archaeological work, the tomb is a find that corresponds to the funerary traditions of the third millennium BC, the so-called Early Bronze Age.

What was unusual about the tomb is that the deceased was buried in a clay pot with his knees bent towards his stomach.

Some grave goods were also placed near the skeleton, which is not typical for the region where the tomb was found and the period to which it belongs.
