After pager explosions, Hezbollah showed dozens of disabled fighters – video

Hezbollah fighters, wounded in attacks on their radios and pagers allegedly carried out by Israel, headed to the tomb of Imam Ali Reza in Mashhad, Iran.

Videos of wounded Hezbollah members appeared on Iranian news.

Previously, Kursor reported that the Washington Post published an investigation claiming that the Israeli Mossad carried out one of the most complex and successful operations against Hezbollah. To do this, they used hidden explosive devices integrated into radios and other communication devices that the terrorist organization considered safe. This operation lasted nine years and resulted in the death or injury of some 3,000 Hezbollah fighters and commanders.

According to sources, the first phase of this operation began in 2015, when Israeli intelligence agencies introduced fake radio stations into Lebanon. These devices looked like normal Hezbollah communications equipment, but in reality contained powerful batteries, hidden explosives, and systems to monitor the organization’s internal communications. For a long time, the Mossad was limited to listening only to Hezbollah communications without activating explosive devices.

A key moment occurred in 2023, when Hezbollah began purchasing tracking devices from the Taiwanese company Apollo. As investigators discovered, the offer came from a Mossad agent who acted under the guise of a marketer who had gained the trust of Hezbollah. Devices that appeared to be tamper-proof turned out to be traps containing hidden explosive mechanisms that were undetectable even with careful testing.

According to the Washington Post, the engineering behind the devices made the explosive mechanisms so inconspicuous that Hezbollah was unable to detect the threat despite its efforts. Activating the explosions required certain actions, such as pressing two buttons to decrypt a message, which ensured that the militants would have the device in their hands at the time of the explosion.

On September 17, 2024, by order of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the charge was activated remotely. The massive explosion wounded and killed thousands of Hezbollah fighters on the front lines. It is possible that civilians were among the victims, but exact data on the number of victims has not yet been revealed.

The investigation also highlights that there were active discussions among Israeli leaders about the feasibility of this operation. Some senior officials expressed concern about a possible escalation of the conflict and negative consequences for Israel. However, despite these warnings, Netanyahu approved the operation just days before it was to take place.

The Washington Post adds that the United States, as Israel’s main ally, was not aware of the impending operation and did not participate in the discussion of its consequences.
