13th day of the Patriotic War: Hadrut and several territories are liberated from occupation

October 9, 2020: thirteenth day of the Patriotic War, which led us to the freedom of our lands. The Glorious Army of Azerbaijan continues to advance with determination to liberate our former lands from occupation.

Oku.Az recalls that the headquarters building of the 5th transport regiment of the Armenian armed forces was destroyed as a result of the fire attack of the Azerbaijani army during military operations. As a result, the chief of staff of the 10th infantry division, Colonel Samvel Grigoryan, who was in the building, was seriously injured, the regiment’s artillery chief, Lieutenant Colonel Arman Dermeyan, and a large number of servicemen They died.

During the day and night, in total, 13 enemy tanks “T-72”, two PDMs, four rocket launchers “BM-21” “Grad”, two self-propelled artillery units 2S3 “Acacia”, three “D-30”, two radar systems and a large amount of the vehicle’s equipment are destroyed and disabled by precise shots. As a result of the operation carried out in one of the directions of the front, six fully operational “T-72” tanks belonging to the 49th tank brigade of the Armenian armed forces were captured.

However, the enemy, who suffered a serious defeat on the battlefield, on the thirteenth day of the war, as in the first days, moved the conflict beyond the front line and attacked the civilian population and infrastructure. civil. As a result of the intense shelling of the Fuzuli region by the Armenian armed forces with rockets and artillery shells from different directions, residents of the Karabakh village – Samir Hidayat oglu Asadov, born in 1982, Nizami Jafar oglu Ibrahimov, born in 1958, and Alman Anver oglu Abbasov, born in 1968, died as a result of shells falling on houses and suffered bodily injuries of varying degrees. Even the houses where they live are seriously damaged. In addition, the Armenian armed forces shell the territories of the Goranboy, Tartar, Barda and Aghdam regions. In addition, the enemy launches artillery attacks against the territories of the Mingachevir and Agjabedi regions. At the same time, the ballistic missile fired from the territory of Armenia in the direction of Mingachevir was detected by Azerbaijan’s air defense systems and destroyed at an altitude of more than 20 kilometers. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired at the enemy in important directions and destroyed a large amount of their military equipment.

Despite all this, on the thirteenth day of the war, the Azerbaijani army writes a new history for the liberation of our lands from occupation. Thus, that day several of our territories are free from occupation. President Ilham Aliyev on its “X” page, it is announced that Sor and Hadrut villages of Khojavend district, Chaily village of Tartar district, Kishlaq, Garacalli, Efendilis, Suleymanli, Yukhari Guzlak and Gorazilli villages of Fuzuli district have been completely liberated from the occupation.

The successes achieved by the Azerbaijani army on the battlefield continue on the diplomatic front. President Ilham Aliyev is showing firm determination and political will in the face of pressure from his Armenian backers. On October 9, the Head of State responded to Amnesty International journalists’ provocative questions from CNN International and Sky News TV about the Azerbaijani army’s dropping of allegedly Israeli-made cluster bombs with concrete facts:

“We have no contact with the organization you mentioned due to their pro-Armenian and anti-Azerbaijan position. Firstly, this is wrong. Secondly, I would advise them to examine how cluster bombs are used against our civilians. Their Smerch, Elbrus “, let them see how they use Tochka-U ballistic missiles against our cities. Ganja, Goranboy, Naftalan, Yevlakh and other cities are under Armenian bombardment. Why does “Amnesty International” want to see only one side? Why not? Don’t you see the other side?

Likewise, according to the negotiations between the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, mediated by Moscow on October 9, a humanitarian ceasefire is announced starting on October 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
