The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, will present tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15, the preliminary draft budget of the Autonomous Community for the year 2025, which, according to what he put forward, will be ” the highest budgets in the history” of this territory, which is why he asked the groups to demonstrate “high mentality”.
As detailed by the president, the first step to carry out the 2025 accounts will be the approval tomorrow during an extraordinary Government Council of the expenditure ceiling for subsequent submission to the Cortes of Castilla y León, after which he launched this appeal to groups so that they have a “height of vision” and support the cap on non-financial spending to be able to move forward with the approval of the budgets, which will be presented tomorrow but not approved.
Fernández Mañueco explained that given the parliamentary treatment of the spending ceiling, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Fernández Carriedo will meet with parliamentary groups with the aim of incorporating their proposals in the 2025 budget project to obtain “sufficient support”, since the departure of Vox from the autonomous government left the PP in a minority in the Cortes.
“I hope, in this sense, that the political groups will respond to this call for dialogue think about Castilla y León and not think only and exclusively about party strategies.asked Fernández Mañueco, who spoke expressly to the Socialist Party and its government partners until last July, to Vox, with whom he approved the accounts in force in 2024.
“We will see if the Socialist Party of Castilla y León can focus on Castilla y León, despite its internal problems. And we will see if Vox can work for Castilla y León from Castilla y León or he will only do what his bosses tell him from Madrid”, condemned.
Alfonso Fernández Mañueco guaranteed in this regard that on the Council side “he will not stay” because “he knows how to dialogue” as he “demonstrated”. “We know how to make Castilla y León work, lor we demonstrate,” he said.
According to what has been put forward, the preliminary draft budget of the Community for 2025 will be “the highest in history”, record that has already been achieved by 2024, amounting to 14.562 million euros, 5.42 percent more than the previous one, and will continue to maintain the commitment of the Autonomous Community “to be the autonomous community which devotes the most to social policies” and its “clear commitment”. to the dynamism and innovation of the economy.
For example, he reported that 81 percent of budgets are allocated to social policieshealth, education and social services, as well as dependency, reconciliation and housing.
Fernández Mañueco made this announcement during the “Forum Castilla y León towards the future” organized by Europa Press whose executive president, Asís Martín de Cabiedes, pleaded for “think, look and turn on the lights towards Castilla y León”, a “great” land that offers “great opportunities” and “great challenges”.
