It is a story that Rachida Dati believed buried in the past. A few hours before the re-election of the Minister of Culture in the government, Release revealed, on September 23, an interest-free loan of 50,000 euros granted to Mme Dati, in September 2007. A loan that she does not have, she said the world, never declared to the authorities supervising the transparency of political life as outgoing minister and as a member of the European Parliament, in 2009, 2012 and 2014.
She obtained this loan, when she was Nicolas Sarkozy’s Minister of Justice, from a close friend: the businessman Henri Proglio, then director of Veolia Environnement, and who would later be appointed by the Fillon government, in the fall of 2009. This interest-free loan granted by check on September 5, 2007, of which the world obtained confirmation, was the subject of an acknowledgment of debt signed by Mme Dati in Paris, on the following October 4, transmitted by the Minister to Mr. Proglio. Even according to the typed notice, in the previous sentence, interestingly, this debt is granted “for a maximum period of eight years” (until, therefore, 2015). Another curiosity, this maximum duration eight-year loan and the due date for payment (September 5, 2012) by Mr. Proglio do not appear in the mention that Mr.me Dati wrote in his own handwriting in the acknowledgment of receipt, in the second part of the document.
“All loans had to be declared”
METROme Dati, registered with the Paris Bar in February 2010, seemed to have the means to repay her loan: according to her declarations of interests and financial situation in 2014 before the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP) as a deputy European, of which the world As she learned, she had received 704,000 euros in fees as a lawyer in 2012, as well as 95,000 euros in remuneration as a European deputy.
