A fire broke out in a residential complex in Moscow

A fire broke out in a residential building in Ilmensky Proezd and several apartments caught fire, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports. The Department of Transportation clarifies that we are talking about the Seliger City residential complex.

“In Ilmensky Proezd, apartments from the fifth to eighth floors of a residential building are on fire. “7 people were rescued, including a child.” – the ministry said in a statement.

Due to the fire, traffic along Ilmensky Proezd from house 14k8 to house 14k3 is blocked.

“5 people were saved. 2 residents were injured, including a child. “88 specialists and 27 teams continue to extinguish the fire.” – the Ministry of Emergency Situations later added. At 03:54 Moscow time the fire was extinguished, and at 04:25 Moscow time it was completely extinguished.

Mash reports that gas cylinders exploded in one of the apartments, and residents saw their fragments under the windows. Eyewitnesses spoke of eight explosions, Baza reports. According to the channel, neighbors saw how cylinders were taken to the apartment during the day; MSK1 posted a video purportedly showing a gas cylinder flying.

A police source told TASS about “several explosions.” The agency said they were believed to be burst gas cylinders.

“Seliger City” is a business-class residential complex, located in the north of Moscow, in the western Degunino district.
