Instability persists in the eastern half of the peninsula, with greater incidence in the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands and Catalonia, where the orange warning (high risk) was activated this Wednesday due to storms and rain, which could occasionally accumulate between 60 and 90 liters per square meter in an hour.
According to data from the National Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the entire Balearic archipelago is orange due to rains that will accumulate 50 liters and even between 60 and 90 liters in one hour; AEMET also warns of very strong gusts of wind associated with strong storms (90 to 120 km/h), with the possibility of becoming hurricanes (greater than 120 km/h).
In Catalonia, only the province of Tarragona remains on orange alert due to accumulated rainfall of up to 40 liters in one hour, although the meteorology warns that up to 60 to 90 liters could accumulate. In the rest of the community, there is a yellow warning for rains that will add 25 liters in one hour and for storms accompanied by hail.
