The idea of controlling artists’ stage costumes has been widely discussed since blogger and singer Olga Buzova performed at an event in Ufa in a revealing outfit. The Ministry of Culture even issued recommendations for the appearance of artists, and the authorities of at least 12 regions of Russia accepted them for implementation.
Now the initiative of the Ministry of Culture has been commented on by the indirect culprit of the situation.
“I don’t even know how to comment on this: I am in favor of freedom on stage, because the stage is not life. In life you wear dresses, skirts, jeans and sweatpants. Although, you know, the length of some office workers’ skirts is sometimes shorter than some of our concert suits.” — MK.ru portal quotes Buzova.
The artist highlighted that the stage is different, in which the stars immerse the viewer.
“If we talk about concert costumes, then we really have to criticize ballerinas, figure skating and gymnasts.” – Buzova continued.
At the same time, he expressed his willingness to follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Culture.
“Nowadays, organizers often even ask me to send them a description of the concert costumes I plan to work with. It’s not difficult for me to do this. Also, I have a lot of different suits and bodysuits. Of course, I still want to perform in concert costumes and I perform in them.” – noted Buzova.
He added that when choosing costumes for the concert, in any case, he takes into account the type of audience in front of which he will have to perform.
“I am completely obedient when comments of this type appear. I understand that everything has its place and time. Believe me, you can dress incredibly tight and be very sexy. I probably need to do this, after which they will call me and say: “Olya, give me the monkey back.” – Buzova concluded.

The Russian Ministry of Culture noted that representatives of regional authorities did not contact the federal department for further consultations on the recommendations received.
