Endesa launches fund to help those affected by DANA, cancels invoices and mobilizes employees

Endesa launched an aid plan with different lines of action to help those affected by the floods that devastated the Valencian Community and Castile-La Mancha after DANA. First of all, the company will launch a fundraising campaign among its more than 9,000 employees and is committed to topping up the amount raised to one million euros, which will be sent to the areas concerned through Red Cross and Caritas.

In addition, it was decided to cancel the next monthly electricity and gas bill for the company’s customers located in the municipalities. people affected in the Valencian Community and Castile-La Manchabased on the list of locations specified by the central government. The company is also strengthening its service channels available to its customers to be able to request the deferral of their invoices or resolve any other problem arising from the application of the measures approved by the Government.

Alongside these corporate measures, Endesa workers are joining the immense wave of solidarity across the country. All this help is channeled through the corporate volunteering area of ​​the Endesa Foundation, providing capacity, time and resources.

SO, Today, November 13, a special initiative will be coordinated at the company’s headquarters in Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Seville and Zaragoza where employee volunteers will help prepare 1,500 backpacks containing personal protective equipment (PPE). Each backpack contains essential cleaning and safety items, such as gloves, FFP2 masks, hydroalcoholic gel, protective glasses and rubber boots, facilitating protection during recovery efforts. In addition, Endesa employees in Valencia participated last week for two days in the cleaning and conditioning works of the Escola Gavina educational center in Picanya (Valencia), one of the most affected by the recent floods. The Endesa Foundation plans to continue this type of action in other affected centers.

Likewise, the former As Pontes power station has already donated PPE worth 5,000 euros.

Endesa CEO José Bogas said: “We are absolutely shocked by the effects of DANA and we want to express our regrets and our greatest solidarity with the victims, their families and all those affected. We know that the devastating effects of this storm will last for a long time and therefore aid is and will continue to be much needed.
