Donald Trump, former head of the White House, and Kamala Harris, vice president of the United States, have the same chances of winning the next presidential election.
Oku.Az reports that this is demonstrated by data from “The Economist’s” predictive model based on the results of 65 public opinion surveys recently carried out among residents of the United States.
Now each of the two candidates has a 50% chance of winning. Harris lost to Trump for the first time last week and her chances of returning to the Oval Office are estimated at 54%. In the October 18 issue of “The Economist”, this figure was 46%.
It is observed that a few days before the elections, and even if there is a minimal difference between the candidates, slight changes in the choices of the respondents will have a serious impact on the electoral forecasts. According to the report, the increase in Harris’ chances of victory is mainly due to poll results in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, where her popularity increased by an average of 0.4 percentage points.
