The Eagle Owl has had babies: in its thirty-one years of existence, it has inspired other treasure hunts. Some of its designers are former “owls”, and one was even released by Michel Becker, the illustrator of the La Chouette d’or puzzles and current organizer of the game since the latter announced the discovery of the treasure on October 3. The “owls” lost their favorite idea, when others discovered with amazement but delay this large-format treasure hunt concept. They will be able to console themselves with other games of the same type, released in the last five years.

The Golden Elixir, a treasure hunt that can be tasted

Launched in April 2023, this treasure hunt will allow its winner to obtain a prestigious winery, initially valued at 100,000 euros. In the form of a large scroll, its six riddles, once solved, lead to a chest buried somewhere in France. Whoever finds it will become the owner of a collection of 3,600 bottles, displayed at the Vaux-le-Vicomte castle, provided by 43 associated winegrowers. If the game revolves around the theme of oenology, “Solving the puzzles does not require great knowledge of wine”say the organizers, a young team of treasure hunt enthusiasts united in the company Unsolved.

The scroll is available in game stores, cultural products stores or on the L’Elixir d’or website, for €29.99. Count on €5 more to also benefit from the digital version of the puzzles.

The Treasure of Skull Island, a pirate story

A skull made of crystal, gold and emeralds, weighing eleven kilos and valued at 50,000 euros: this is the treasure that will be won by the person capable of deciphering the enigmas of the book The Treasure of Skull Island.
