Ford management summoned worker representatives to a meeting this Wednesday to discuss the situation at the Almussafes factory (Valencia) and request a temporary work regulation file (ERTE), as explained by the UGT, the majority union in the factory.
The meeting comes at a time when DANA, which has devastated several municipalities in the province, forced the factory to stop its activity. A production which It has already been periodically interrupted within the framework of the ERTE for productive reasons that the factory already has in force until the end of the year.
The UGT indicated that the “The dramatic moment we are experiencing does not require arguments to demand from Ford the 100% complement of all salary concepts, while the ERTE is in force”. In the current ERTE, workers receive 85% of their real salary, as well as 100% of salary, vacation and seniority.
The union indicated that, so far, It was possible to contact “almost 100%” of the staff after DANA. “We are all still alive, with more or less great losses and difficulties,” underlined the UGT.
The union hopes to be able to communicate in the coming days when factory activity will resume. This same Tuesday, the UGT had already announced that Ford had delayed the restart of the activity of its engine factory until Monday November 11, instead of this Wednesday as planneddue to “force majeure circumstances that currently prevent factory production.”
Last July, Ford and the UGT agreed on an ERTE for 996 workers until December, with 25 days of total stoppage. This ERTE is in addition to the ERE for 626 employees which had also been agreed, taking into account the surplus of factory staff until they are assigned to the manufacture of a new multi-energy vehicle in 2025 .
