France is deploying a warship as a “precautionary measure” in case of evacuation of its citizens from Lebanon, France Presse reports, citing the French General Staff.
As noted, we are talking about a helicopter carrier that will take between five and six days to reach the eastern Mediterranean from the port of Toulon. The ship is equipped with helicopters and has a “tactical group” on board, which can be used in the event of an evacuation, the General Staff told the agency.
The Israeli Air Force is carrying out massive strikes against Hezbollah targets in different areas of Lebanon. There were also several targeted airstrikes in Beirut, as a result of which senior Hezbollah commanders were eliminated. Observers note that Israel has not attacked the group with such intensity since the Second Lebanon War in 2006.
