The XV International Dance Campus of Valencia, organized by the Mediterranean Association of Dance and Art (ADAM), in collaboration with the Hortensia Herrero Foundation and which began last Monday, August 19, received the visit of Hortensia Herrero. Thanks to their patronage, this meeting takes place at the La Petxina Cultural and Sports Complex. In addition, as usual in each edition, the Hortensia Herrero Foundation scholarship this year to 15 young dancerswith whom the president of the entity was discussing and taking a photo.
This edition has a total of 127 participants and will end this Friday, August 30, with the celebration of the closing exhibition of the campus at the Municipal Auditorium of Ribarroja. This event will take place at 5:30 p.m., with free admission. In this exhibition, everything that has been worked on by the participants during the Campus will be staged.
Hortensia Herrero’s visit coincided with a very special activity, since the campus dancers were visited by the boys and girls who are developing the Ballet Vale+ project. This project, with which the Hortensia Herrero Foundation has also been collaborating for more than a decade, is promoted by the Esther Mortes Dance School for the development of research on the use of classical ballet technique as physical and social therapy in children with cerebral palsyThe boys and girls of Ballet Vale+ were able to share an afternoon with the young dancers on campus, a very enriching experience for all.
The Valencia International Dance Campus is a meeting of dance students and professional dancers chaired by the Valencian Gema Casino Penalba and artistically directed by Fabrice Edelmann and José Carlos Blanco, which this year celebrates its fifteenth edition and has once again sold out all the available places. . These are twelve days during which students live by and for dance in a privileged environment such as the Petxina Complex, of the Municipal Sports Foundation. Thanks to this Campus, young dance students have the opportunity, on the one hand, to improve their technique and, on the other, to work on the artistic part through the excerpts from pieces by internationally renowned choreographersThe program includes classes in classical dance, men’s technique, pointe technique and physical preparation for dancers.
As in the last editions, ADAM has reached several agreements with different national and international companies, such as the National Dance Company, Valencia Dancing Forward or the IT Dansa company, to be able to grant stays to exceptional participants of the Campus and thus can experience the daily life of a company. Other stays will also be offered for the Royal Professional Dance Conservatory of Madrid, the Professional Dance School of Castilla y León, in Valladolid, as well as the Professional Dance Conservatory of Cáceres.
The team of professionals led by Gema Casino, Fabrice Edelmann and José Carlos Blanco, is made up of Arantxa Argüelles, Juanjo Arqués, Emmanuelle Broncin, Laia Duran, Luis Gadea, María López and Juan Polo, all great figures in the world. dance of great international prestige.
