During the month of September 2024, the State Border Service made a number of achievements within the framework of measures to ensure reliable protection of state borders, combating smuggling, illegal migration and illegal circulation of narcotics.

It was reported that during the month 64 people were arrested for violating the state border, 40 of them were citizens of Pakistan, 12 from Azerbaijan, four from Afghanistan, three from Algeria, three from Iran, one from Egypt and one from Sri Lanka.
It was highlighted that as a result of measures to combat illegal migration, 11 people were detained when they tried to cross the state border with date stamps and falsified passports and other people’s documents.
In addition, 747 people were detained for violating the rules of the border regime and appropriate measures were taken against them.
In addition, within the framework of anti-crime measures, Azerbaijani law enforcement forces detained 308 wanted people and handed them over to the relevant authorities, and 512 people were prevented from leaving the country and 20 people were prevented from entering.
As a result of the measures to combat the illegal circulation of narcotics, 74 kilograms, 627 grams of narcotics and 44,195 pills, considered powerful drugs containing narcotics, were detected and removed from circulation.
As a result of anti-smuggling measures, contraband worth a total of 1 million 529 thousand 391 manats was stored, including one automatic comb (with 23 cartridges), two pistol combs (with 75 cartridges), medicines and tobacco products .
