Lukashenko blamed Armenian leaders for what happened in Karabakh

“Armenian leaders are to blame for recent events in Karabakh.”

Oku.Az Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko made this statement during a meeting with representatives of various nationalities living in the republic, TASS reports.

“What happened in Karabakh is the sole fault of the Armenian leadership. I warned them to return the lands to Azerbaijan. They themselves admitted that “these lands are not our territories, they are Azerbaijani lands, but we will not give up, we will fight,” Lukashenko said.

The President of Belarus said he called for a peaceful solution to the problem between Yerevan and Baku.

“Then I asked Putin and together we told Pashinyan to solve the problem. He said no, we will fight,” Lukashenko said.

Addressing Nikol Pashinyan, the head of state said: “Why are you offended by Russia, including by us? You yourself admitted that Karabakh is Azerbaijan’s territory. Who was mocking you? Take care of yourself. But now you have decided to go to the West, to the European Union,” Lukashenko said.

According to him, the “first attacks” of the Armenian leadership were against Belarus. “It is clear that, although they attacked us, they attacked Putin. We saw this clearly. I told Putin that there is no need to strain relations. The Armenian people should not think that we are against the Armenians, and as you can see, we did not react at all,” the President of Belarus said.

Lukashenko stressed that no one in the West is waiting for Ukraine and Armenia.
