Mapfre and Sanitas decided not to attend the concert to provide health care to Justice officials (Mugeju). This refusal comes in addition to that of DKV, which has already announced that it will not participate in the call for tenders either and coincides with the sit-in of DKV itself, Adeslas and Asisa at Muface concert. These last two insurers have accepted the conditions of the Executive, so they will continue to provide the service to civil servants in the judicial sector. Nueva Mutua Sanitaria has not yet commented on its decision.

“There are not sufficient conditions to guarantee the quality of the service,” Mapfre sources told Europa Press. The conditions are an average increase in premiums of around 17.1% but which, according to insurers’ arguments, does not compensate for the costs of the services they must provide after the inflationary crisis of recent times.

Concerning Sanitas, the company clarified that, after studying the conditions of the offer, “they do not guarantee the provision of the service in the quality conditions that (the company) considers necessary”.

In Muface’s case, the concert was declared void last week, after Adeslas, Asisa and DKV, the three insurers who provided assistance, refused to appear. All argued that they were not willing to compound their losses to continue providing this service.

Concerning Isfas, the mutual which provides services to soldiers who opt for private insurance rather than Social Security, the presence of Adeslas and Asisa was confirmed this Monday.

The basic budget for the Isfas concert amounts to 1.201 million euros for the entire two years covered by the concert. In the case of Mugeju, this amounts to 175 million. This represents a total of 1,376 million euros, while during the previous concert, which lasted three years instead of two, the budget was 1,856 million euros.

This Monday, the CSIF union counted on thousands of civil servants following the demonstrations called to begin negotiations for the improvement of the working conditions and salaries of all civil servants and for the defense of the Muface health model. The mobilizations took place in front of the Ministry of Finance in Madrid and in government sub-delegations in all provinces of the country and will continue on December 16.
