María Corina Machado wins the Council of Europe’s Václav Havel Human Rights Prize

The leader of the Venezuelan opposition Maria Corina Machado This Monday he won the Václav Havel Prize for Human Rights awarded each year by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

His daughter, Ana Corina Sosa, received the prize and it is the first time that the Council of Europe has awarded the Václav Havel Prize to a person from Latin America since the organization first awarded the prize in 2013.
