Carlos Mazon announced, in an institutional declaration that lasted until four hours this Saturday, the creation of “five immediate response groups to the crisis due to the DANA“who will be in charge of their various advisors and for whom the Government has also requested the incorporation of a maximum of seven ministers to work in said groups.
The Valencian president, who in his first words thanked both the troops and volunteers for their work, said that “the supply points are filled with water, food and basic necessities” to supply the Valencian people which “crosses the moment of our history.”
“VWe like to reach all places, no matter what. We have all emergency personnel working around the clock. Many of you are wondering why the army and other troops did this. The first work of the emergency services was to secure, clean and unblock access to the communities in order to be able to work. More than 7,000 soldiers are in action. Each request was supported and justified by the emergency operational command. Every minute that professionals continue to consider them, I will continue to demand them. AND I hope that the Spanish government will be up to the task, as it has been so far” he said.
After that he announced the creation of five immediate response groups to the DANA crisis. One from the health group, another from infrastructure, another from social services and housing, another from employment and business and a last from security. All of them will be led by the different councilors of the Generalitat and Mazón has requested from the Government the presence of a maximum of seven Ministers of the Government (Mónica García, Óscar Puente, Pablo Bustinduy, Isabel Rodríguez, Yolanda Díaz, Carlos Cuerpo and Fernando Grande- Marlaska ) to collaborate.
The first will be the health group for which Mazón requested the “immediate incorporation” of the Minister of Health, Monique Garcia. The objective of this group is “the development of an epidemiological risk plan”.
Second, it forms a set of infrastructures in which the presence of the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, was requested. The main objective is the implementation of a “relaunch plan for the transport and infrastructure network of the province of Valencia”.
The third the group is social services and housingfor which the Minister of Social Rights, Pablo Bustinduy, and the Minister of Housing, Isabel Rodríguez, were requested. Its objective will be to take urgent measures “for relocation, reconstruction of housing and immediate social assistance”, including the granting of subsidies to dependent people. In addition, Mazón requested bank intermediation for the deferral of mortgages and bank loans for all those affected.
The fourth group, job and businessMazón also requested the incorporation of Yolanda Díaz, Minister of Labor, and Carlos Body, Minister of Economy, with the aim of “allowing all legal instruments to make compatible all possible ERTES”. In this section, Mazón requested a series of actions so that those affected do not miss out on, among other things, unemployment assistance.
The fifth and last immediate response group This is the Interior and it is already coordinated by Minister Grande-Marlaska, according to Mazón, to carry out a reinforcement of troops and a security check to prevent thefts.
Finally, Carlos Mazón ended his appearance with two other requests that he claims to have already transmitted to Pedro Sánchez: the incorporation of the Chief of Defense Staff for “the best coordination of the greatest tragedy in Spain” and that it be accelerated. “to the maximum activation of the European solidarity fund”.
Marlaska conveys to Mazón the government’s “will” to join the DANA working groups
After the appearance of Carlos Mazón, there was an intervention by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska. The minister, who has been in Valencia since Friday, once again reiterated the government’s readiness to “help with all state means” in the recovery of all affected areas.
