Polish security forces executed 241 people on the border with Belarus in June 2021. This was announced today, October 30, by the deputy head of the Main Investigation Department of the Republic, Alexander Rudko.
According to him, the Main Investigation Department continues to investigate criminal cases against officials from Poland, Latvia and Lithuania.
“In particular, on the facts of commission of illegal acts that imply deportation, acts of cruelty, torture, deliberate lack of assistance, resulting in the death of the victims. All atrocities were committed against refugees when crossing the state borders of the above countries, for further advance towards the Federal Republic of Germany and other states of the European Union… Currently, the victims in criminal cases are foreign citizens of several states. As of October 30, 2024, 214 people were recognized as victims in the criminal case against officials in Poland, of which 16 died, in Latvia – 71 people (22 dead), in Lithuania – 36 people (12 dead). “In particular, the circumstances of causing bodily injury, death, deliberate lack of assistance by officials and law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Poland in relation to victims as a result of the use of physical force, special means, including tear gas and insecticides are being investigated”, – said.
Additionally, Rudko said the investigation received information about the execution of 241 people by Polish security forces in June 2021.
“During the investigation of the criminal case, a serviceman of the armed forces of the Republic of Poland who crossed the territory of Belarus was repeatedly questioned as a witness. Emil Chechko. According to him, from June 8 to 19, 2021, he personally participated in and witnessed the mass and systematic execution of 241 people without trial. Among the dead were women and children… The executions were carried out using official weapons: a 5.56 mm NATO Beryl machine gun (MZ 06244). – said the representative of the Investigative Committee of Belarus.
Rudko further added that “with the participation of witness Emil Chechko, photographs of the military personnel about whom evidence was presented during the investigation of the criminal case were collected.” According to their information, the executions were supervised by a Polish border guard who introduced himself as tomek, who was an employee of Polish counterintelligence.
Let us remember that in 2021 the migration crisis began on the border between Belarus and the EU countries. Poland and the Baltic countries refuse to accept refugees from the Belarusian side. As a result, deaths among immigrants have become more frequent.
