Israel’s National Security Council has issued new recommendations for Israelis abroad, taking into account the growing activity of independent groups on the Internet, their widespread presence around the world, as well as the experience of mass protests, including violence.
Experts warn that terrorists or lone attackers could take advantage of the unrest to launch attacks and advise taking a series of precautions.
In particular, Israelis are advised to refrain from attending major sporting and cultural events involving their compatriots over the next week, especially the Israeli national team’s match in Paris, scheduled for November 14.
Additionally, citizens are advised to avoid participating in rallies and demonstrations. In case of threats or attacks, local security services should be contacted immediately.
The Council also recommends minimizing, if possible, external signs that may indicate Israeli or Jewish origin, especially when ordering a taxi through mobile applications. Instead, it is best to enlist the help of a third party, such as a hotel front desk.
Before visiting new areas, it is advisable to clarify information about the area: familiarize yourself with the crime rate, the frequency of demonstrations and take into account the possible presence of a large number of immigrants from countries hostile to Israel.
